Theo Parrish is the DJ’s DJ’s DJ. He is the modern griot, whose storytelling unfolds on the dance floor through extended sets made up of a completely dynamic range of sonic exploration.

DC-born but Chicago-raised, Theo eventually took his early skills to Detroit in search of himself, at the crossroads of Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and all that came before it. Paying his dues in Detroit, surrounded by mentors whose iron-sharpens-iron approach helped shape him into one of the best to ever do it.

Releasing his first offering, Lake Shore Drive, he followed with a string of highly important releases that shifted the temperature of the moment. Not taking from Detroit without giving back, he started his groundbreaking label Sound Signature, whose philosophy includes:

“An event, emotion, or feeling described by sound, but not limited to it. Expression given a direction. A focus through arrangement, our personal language at any given moment. No one can duplicate your signature, your mark, your life.”

Songs like Them Drums, Tympanic Warfare, and This Is for You featuring Maurissa Rose channel messages from the ancestors to the soul and feet of the listener.

Touring the world and spreading his passion for genre-defying, un-Shazamable sets of eclectic body rhythms, Theo has become one of the most important figures in music today.
