One of the foremost producers upholding New York’s rich sonic legacy in both hip hop and house music. Hailing from Brooklyn, Vincent E. Williams, known to the world as DJ Spinna, has left an indelible mark across genres and decades.

DJ Spinna began DJing at a young age, building a strong reputation in Brooklyn’s music scene. His trajectory took a pivotal turn when he received an E-MU SP12 sampler as a gift from house and freestyle legend Todd Terry. With this tool, Spinna became a defining producer during the “backpack era” of 90s underground hip hop, making waves with his groups Jigmastas and Polyrhythm Addicts.

As a DJ, his sets have always been genre-spanning journeys, reflecting his collaborations and studies with New York’s finest DJs known for their long, eclectic performances. Truly, Spinna is a DJ’s DJ revered worldwide as a true authentic sonic curator of soulful magic.

Venturing into house music production, he crafted one of the genre’s most iconic remixes, Days Like This with Shaun Escoffery, a song that has since become a house classic. This launched him into a new phase of his career, remixing and producing for legends like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

Among his most beloved contributions is his WONDER-Full party series, a tribute to the legacy of Stevie Wonder, featuring sets exclusively composed of Stevie’s music, covers, and remixes. The event’s impact has been so profound that Stevie Wonder himself now often performs at these gatherings, celebrating his own remarkable body of work with Spinna at the helm.
